𝗧𝗼𝗽𝗶𝗰: Leader Standard Work

🎯 𝗜𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁: In a Lean environment, even the hardest work to improve processes can be undone if leadership principles remain unchanged. Without evolving the way we lead, those hard-won improvements inevitably evaporate

The same is true when new leadership steps in without fully understanding their role in supporting and sustaining these improvements. The traditional “make the numbers” model often clashes with and ultimately stifles a process improvement-driven approach, suffocating long-term progress.

As I often say:

"𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽 𝗶𝘀 𝗮 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀. 𝗟𝗶𝗸𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝘆 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀, 𝗶𝘁 𝗺𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗯𝗲 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗮𝗿𝗱𝗶𝘇𝗲𝗱 𝗯𝗲𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗶𝘁 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝗯𝗲 𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗱."

☝️ 𝗧𝗶𝗽: Start by scheduling dedicated time for three critical activities: visiting the Gemba to observe reality firsthand, developing and coaching team members, and assessing alignment with True North goals. Review how your system-driven behaviors align with the principles of organizational excellence (see the Shingo Model.) Remember, it takes humility, patience, and commitment—but the results are worth it.
